“The image in Intermission is redolent of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s adventures in Wonderland, transformed into a table of rabbits in various states of awe, enthusiasm and collapse as audience to the performance by Nick the Mouse. As in Carroll’s Alice books, humour and irreverence are discernible threads influencing Jeff’s artwork and poetry.”

Dr. Juliet O’Conor, specialist in children’s book history, having curated a collection of five centuries of children’s books at the State Library of Victoria.
