New landscape paintings of Victoria and Scotland

This prolific Scottish Artist came to Australia after being awarded a Menzies Fellowship in 1994, working at the Dunmoochin Foundation studios. Emigrating to Australia on a Distinguished Talent Visa, he has been an Australian citizen since 2005 and lives with his family in Central Victoria.
Robert Maclaurin has had many solo and group exhibitions internationally, including solo exhibitions at Niagara Galleries and Australian Galleries in Melbourne. He has UK gallery representation in London and Edinburgh.
Robert has been awarded various Artist in Residencies, including the highly sought after Durham Cathedral Residency in the UK and recently he was the guest artist at Höherweg Studios in Düsseldorf, Germany. He has won several prizes over the years for his impressive landscapes, both overseas and in Australia, including first prize for the Noble Grossart Scottish Painting Prize in 1998 at the Royal Scottish Academy and locally, the James Farrell Self-portrait Prize at Castlemaine Art Gallery in 2005.
He has works in many prestigious collections: The National Galleries of Scotland Collection; The Royal Collection, HM The Queen/King; The Fleming’s Collection of Scottish Art, London and the Scottish Government Collection. He also has several major works in the Castlemaine Art Museum’s collection. Private collectors include writers, JK Rowling, Alexander McCall Smith, Alex Miller and TV producers Sir Jeremy Isaacs and John Lloyd of Blackadder and QI fame.
He continues to draw inspiration from the people and landscapes of his homes on each side of the world.
