Artist Specific

Artists have a lot of questions about exhibiting at Cascade Art Gallery. This list may answer some questions.

  • NO. This is quite frustrating and does the Artist a big disservice – it is impossible to judge on a little handheld phone. Please refrain from doing this. Staff in the gallery are performing other duties as a matter of priority and do not have time to discuss your artwork in this manner.

  • From time to time an opportunity arises and new visual artists are welcomed to exhibit at Cascade Art Gallery.

  • The best and preferred approach is to email info@cascadeart.com.au and introduce yourself. Send 6-12 professional photographs of your artwork. Send a short proposal. Send a short Bio of your career highlights. Please include if your artworks have sold or not and indicate some indicative prices in your written communication.

  • Cascade Art is an independent commercial art gallery. All artworks must be for sale unless by prior negotiation.

  • Proposals are reviewed every 3 months. We have way more interested artists than time slots available to exhibit. Please do not be offended if we are unable to accommodate your proposal or you do not hear from us.

  • No. However, there is always a possibility we may run workshops at some stage. When you subscribe to our email, please tick the relevant interest box.

  • No. At the moment we are not interested in renting out our gallery. We are totally committed to our own exhibition programme.

  • No. This is not the remit of Cascade Art Gallery.

  • Sometimes. There is quite a bit of ‘behind the scenes’ work and investment of time and money that happens before an exhibition opens to the public. Ie. Programming, advertising, writing.

  • This is at the discretion of the Gallery Director and other curators who might be involved in the selection of artists for group exhibitions.
