Welcoming Simon Dow
We are delighted, thrilled and grateful to welcome Simon Dow - Performance Artist / Fine Art Photographer / Choreographer / Installation Artist / Creative Director - to officially open David Moore's upcoming exhibition of new paintings, 'Painted Atmosphere' at 2pm Saturday 5 September 2024.
Simon Dow has been a Principal Dancer of international status having danced with The Australian Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet and as a frequent international guest artist with companies and festivals.
He is a choreographer with over fifty original works which have been performed in Australia, Asia, Europe and the U.S.
Simon has been the Artistic Director of West Australian Ballet, Washington Ballet and the Milwaukee Ballet and in this role has curated repertoire and special event / festival offerings for over fifteen years bringing together creative teams from diverse practices and nationalities.
Simon has served on the juries of several prestigious international dance competitions and has been a member of the Australia Council for the Arts Dance Panel, the boards of Washington Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and West Australian Ballet as well as independent boards including AusDance WA.
He held the title of Resident Choreographer for The Australian Ballet School and has been a sought-after master teacher of dance for the past 30 years internationally.
Simon is also a performance artist with multiple solo shows and installations performed in Germany, San Francisco, New York City, Boston, and Melbourne.
Simon is a fine art and portrait photographer with multiple exhibitions and has co-owned and run EDGE galleries as Director and Curator since 2021.
Simon has acted as arts events organiser and has been MC for many projects, events and galas.
