We are delighted to be opening the newly built, ‘second’ Cascade Art gallery space with the evocative paintings by David Moore.

Why is this event ticketed?
This is to ensure we adhere to our COVIDsafe plan with our capacity. It is also to ensure everyone who purchases a ticket get to exclusively see the artwork first and meet the artist!
Do I need to wear a mask to attend?
We ask you to please always carry a mask when you visit the gallery. Canapés and beverages are served at this function. You may take your mask off when enjoying the food and drinks.
Do you cater for my dietary requirements?
A selection of canapés made with seasonal produce will be served. We do not cater for individual dietary requirements.
Can I bring a friend?
This is strictly a ticketed event with limited availability. Please purchase a ticket for every attendant.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you purchased a ticket and cannot attend the function, please let us know via email at:
hello@ExperienceMaldon.com.au We are happy to transfer the credit to another Cascade Art event that you may wish to attend pending on ticketing availability. Otherwise, we can provide you with a refund. A $10
fee is charged for the refund to cover the handling and credit card fee. Refund request must be made 72 hrs prior to the event date. Please let us know if you cannot attend and we shall release your ticket as we often have a wait list for such events.
This event is sold out, can I join the wait list?
Yes. Once the event sells out, there will be a wait list. Please just join the wait list, it is on a first come first serve bases. We will let you know once a ticket becomes available.

David Moore is an Australian painter living and working in Castlemaine in Central Victoria. Still life and landscape are his preferred subjects, and his chosen medium is oil paint on linen or cedar wood panel, and gouache on paper.
David has been painting since he was 11 years old. As a child, he would sit alongside his father’s easel at their home in Croydon, Melbourne, and be instructed in the painting techniques of tonal realism.
In 1970, David was awarded the Alice M. E. Bale scholarship, which afforded him a studio and use of a house, with a few bills paid. He was assigned two painting mentors, Sir William Dargie CBE and Harley Griffiths. The latter, his preferred mentor, was chief restorer at the National Gallery of Victoria. He took David behind the scenes to see The Banquet of Cleopatra, the enormous eighteenth-century Giovanni Battista Tiepolo painting, as it was being restored. For David, it was an exciting glimpse of art history being made and preserved, and reinforced for the aspiring painter that some people value painting highly indeed!
ABOUT KAREEN ANCHEN
Kareen is the Gallery Director of Cascade Art in Maldon. Together with Artist partner Jeff Gardner, they have built up a successful and valued Arts business in the community of Maldon, in Central Victoria and continue to champion, support, and endorse noteworthy emerging and professional Visual Artists.
Kareen managed Cascade Print Room in Main Street, Maldon for 6 years, and takes a particular interest in regional economic development in the Visual Arts and is still passionate about Art Education. Kareen has been involved in coordinating alternative and mainstream Arts Education programs and projects for over 30 years and has worked in Secondary Education and for RMIT, in rural Victorian indigenous communities.
Kareen was the Co-ordinator of Pressing Issues, the 2011 Castlemaine State Festival - Visual Arts Biennial. Kareen worked alongside distinguished Arts Programmers, local and international Artists, esteemed Curators, and the Latrobe University Visual Arts Professional Development students.
Kareen Anchen has artwork in private and international collections.
