A Plein Air Landscape Painting Exhibition
As the title suggests nature abounds in this exhibition of 10 oil painters. Present are the intimate, romantic mist-filled landscapes by emerging artist Melanie Scaife; tonal studies of cloudy-milk and Amaranth skies by Liadaan Fahbien; Maldon plein air heritage streetscapes by Mark Dober and vibrant dappled gardens by Sally Andressen.
Each of the artworks in this show draw you to a familiar central Victorian location or in the case of Liz Sullivan’s large energetic paintings, transport you to a kaleidoscopic vista of nature unleashed with magic pink and blue hues dancing off tree trunks, refracting light bouncing about a-la stained glass windows.
Accomplished painters David Moore and Robert Maclaurin do not disappoint either. These two Painters of international significance have that highly a-tuned Painter’s sensibility and empathy with oil paint. Both are “Painter’s Painters” – they understand the craft and invariably produce oil paintings of exceptionally high standards which is why they are both acquired by major collections and private patrons alike.
Other Artists represented are Kynan Sutherland, Jane Jones and Brendan Nicholl who, along with David Moore, has just been accepted as a finalist in the 2019 Len Fox painting award at Castlemaine Art Museum.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see this refreshing and honest plein air painting exhibition. Make the time to bring a friend and come over to Maldon town to experience art culture and old-fashioned village hospitality. All paintings are for sale and Cascade Art is open 6 days a week.
